Saw Dasavatharam ..
It is a movie in which Kamal wants to show all he has ..
His writing skills , his ideas, his ideologies, his acting (over), his singing ..
Maybe it was his effort to do all that he can..
Dont people try to do that when they reach the end ? ...
Maybe he has decide to retire from movies ...
Neways too many tongue in cheek jokes , out of place sleaze and foolish graphics make the movie a bit unbearable ..
Although Oscar changed to Aascar still the director has to show his face at the end of every movie
Life per se is pathetic ..but this friday I am going home ..

15 - 6 - 08

There seems to be something absolutely wrong in my planning .
Not a single a timeline met ..
Life's in a mess ...
Btw I finally configured a comp ...but dont know how I am gonna get it ..
Lets see ... banking on some one i know and trust ...
It took me 1 whole year to decide on whether to buy a laptop or not ,...
The story after it was quite straight forward coz I knew what I needed ..
It had to be an HP ...
But on the sadder note it's a Vista ...
But if I really have the guts I might rip off the Vista and put XP ,.. or even one of those Linux GUI versions ..
Thats it for now ..
Unfortunately .. again in office today ...
Some time down the line I will write on the weekend experience ,,
Not like I loooove it or hate it ..
But there in the lies the fun ..

Birthday paradox ...

In probability theory, the birthday problem, or birthday paradox,[1] pertains to the probability that in a set of randomly chosen people some pair of them will have the same birthday. In a group of 23 (or more) randomly chosen people, there is more than 50% probability that some pair of them will have the same birthday. For 57 or more people, the probability is more than 99%, tending toward 100% as the pool of people grows
(Source Wiki)
But the paradox f0r me on this day was the birthday of many people including my friend was whether to be or not to be .. Meaning whether to be there or not to be there ..
Also it involved a home - coming so things would have been even more fun ..
But then I decided against being there as the Cosmos would miss me otherwise ..
On a lighter note :
They say that the tradition of birthdays started in Persia and spread throughout the Roman Empire ..
So no doubt that the able guys from Sparta would have been celebrating June 1st as Julius Caesar's bday ... There was no July before he decided so !!!But how about 1st September ..

Hmm
Back after two days of vacation .
Relived the days of college when you had to worry about nothing for 12 hours a day ...
Unlimited PJs ..
Still singing : "Judaa ho ke bhi ... Tu mujh me kahin baaki hai ..."
But for sure we did miss Santa Claus ..
I hope we have him as well for the next trip ..

Mixed feelings ..
One hand I feel like kicking myself for not knowing their plans
On the other hand I feel like kicking them for not telling me their plans ..

On one hand feel like kicking myself for being lazzzy for 2 weeks
On the other hand feel pity on myself ...

The story continues ..
Watch out for "Kya hua delivery kaa " :)

Sitting in office

I think I am gonna redefine staying late hours in office .
When you think of late hours you think of red eyes , tired minds , hungry tummys and a can or two of coke (beer if you are lucky ) making the rounds and yes its got to be a crowd .. People sitting to get work done and do the work the managers want done ... The continous keyboard clicks and the non stop chatter on the conference calls ....
All this is because you gotto collaborate.
My solution is to keep it clean and simple .. Define your work plans .. Collaborate in the day time .. thats the most relaxing work that you could do ,,, Then work non stop at night .. .
The server responds faster ... Linkin park sounds better and your eyes do not crave for that one that you might miss ( if you are sitting next to the corridor).
Its like RTsaid :
You reach a place where :
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action--Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

See for you to awake into such an atmosphere its gotto be 4 am in the morning or 1230 at night ....

So I for one have found what RT wanted for the country .. others gotto find their own ways :)

Sociology redefined

Any animal social or otherwise does fear incoming people. We talk about tigers marking their territories in the jungles and laugh about the dogs doing the same in cities/towns (in India at least) But look at what we are doing. Although we talk about Raj Thackeray being wrong about migrants coming into Maharashtra or about the West Bengal minister (I forgot his name) being wrong about the influx of Marwari into West Bengal. But these incidents are not an aberration. Look at the past ….
The prominent ones that I am reminded of are :
· The revolts in Paris against Algerians.
· The revolts in the US against Muslims
· The Darfur genocide
· The Serbia Kosovo conflictAll these incidents if analyzed deeply would have the same thing as the root cause.

I would like to put up a theory that once a friend of mine told me in a highly inebriated state. But as they say a lot of people make lot more sense when drunk than otherwise. He says:” each person has a shell around him”. This shell is what keeps him from easily interacting with people around him. Yeah! Blame the shell next time you are not able put up a conversation with the hot chick sitting next to you on your twenty minute journey from Kandivli to Santacruz (or you could blame the crowd as well). OK...OK I am sorry to digress from the topic. But actually its twenty minutes because she got into the train at Bandra. Yeah and then these shells have some kind of affinity to shells of a certain type and repulsive to shells of another kind. The affinity to a certain shell is directly proportional to the similarity to the shell and inversely proportional to the difference to other shells around you.Same goes to true for the repulsive nature. OK ..OK going on with the theory..These shells which have affinity towards each other end up building a larger shell. So when a new shell is introduced the larger shell tries to still assimilate this small shell but ends up repelling it to a small distance. What would happen if a large number of new shells of a different kind came near an already present large shell? Obvious my dear Watson (if Holmes didn’t use it I surely will) the repulsion force grows larger and larger. But stll there is some kind of equilibrium tht holds everything together. This is because although there is repulsion there is some amount of attraction due to similarity shared. And each case all that is required is the straw. Could be angry rantings of an author , illegal occupation of territory by a few , an proclamation made in an unacceptable way or such .
I might go one step ahead to the aim of the society has never been to bring together people .It has always been to differentiate ,to separate . To substantiate this I would like to bring up the example of language. The very purpose of language is not just to communicate it is to communicate to a certain set of people whereby alienating others. Had the very purpose of the language been communication evolution of language should not have led to specializations but to generalizations per se .. I mean Greek and Latin and Sanskrit and Pali and Tamil would have given way to something that everyone could understand .The human brain has the capability to communicate telepathically (I still don’t know whether telepathy uses language or not ) The languages should have developed to one in which thought could be easily translated and could have been deciphered by one and all. But instead of the development of one universal language what emerged is a plethora of languages each with its differences.

PS: Thanks Fa**an Mia for the original theory and the able guy from Sparta for the addendum at the end

2-0 to Destiny and yet I am happy

When prople talk about destiny and there is a GOD and the laws of nature that balance out I am the first one to be pissed off ...Not that I don't believe in it but I do believe that there is something more you can do about it than say 'aah its destiny' ... But isnt it true in my own case ...

Do I like it ..the answer is an emphatic 'YES' ...

But the uneasiness beneath the calmness still remains ...

Why ... dunno..

Maybe tomorrow (touchwood ) will bring the same kind of happiness that came along after the first goal ...

Right now it seems that its a temporary happiness that will leave behind a pain of ..'so close yet so far ' ..

Fingers crossed ....

new plans

Making plans to make plans for the new .But fear that the same story that repeat every year would happen all over again ...
Promise
Remember the promise till end of month one
Try to keep up till 45 days ...
lose badly in that endeavor
then ...
sulk a few more days ...
make a valiant effort to revive the effort...
And then lose again ..
BTW its lucky that there are so many days that can be considered as the first one..
1. New Year (Gregorian Calendar)
2. New Year ( Hindu Calendar)
3. Bday (some calendar ..even chinese)
So luckily enuf by the time the first round of disappointments settle in ...
the next day one comes up ..
So I get back to planning........

A Happy New Year and happy resolutions are on their way ... Brace yourself [;)]

Comic Sans

I donot what is wrong.
Either the whole worlds gone crazy or people just refuse to laugh at my serious attempts of improvised humour (ya ya thats the name I give to all those PJs)

Wanna cite two examples that took place in the last few days:

I work in an IT company and do expect people around me to atleast make an effort to understand this joke

Example 1
----------
The original joke was narrated by a Delhiite who thinks he is the dood :
Once a smart S/W engineer and his Project Manager were traveling towards
Ooty in a train. Just Opposite to their seat, a beautiful girl was
sitting along with her grand ma. With in some time, Eye-Eye interactions
started between Our S/W engineer & that girl. After some minutes, train
started moving in to a tunnel and it was very dark.

Suddenly, every body heard a Kiss sound followed by a sound of slapping.
Every body remained silent, when the train came out of the tunnel.

Grand ma thought that," The Guy is a rogue; how dare he is? He has
kissed my grand daughter! But my Grand daughter is genuine; she
immediately slapped that guy."

PM thought that,"I can't believe that this guy has kissed that girl! But
it is unfair that she slapped me by mistake"

That girl thought that,"I feel happy, when that guy kissed me, but I
feel sorry that my grand ma has slapped him".

Finally, do u know what our clever S/W engineer thought?

" This one minute in my life is wonderful, It hardly comes...because, at
a time I have kissed a girl and also I have slapped my PM."

So the other southie dude replied to all in Pure Rajnikanth style :
"
Definitely, that smart s/w engineer cannot be from Punjab/Delhi.
"
This one left a bad taste in my mouth but what was to follow was even worser.
The dood replied :
Yaa the smart engineer someone who is from Punjab/Delhi will not only slap the manager but also all the Mallus around

This is when I conked out and out of my pure frustration was born a pearl which was very unassuming and subtle :

I just replied
114 Attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory /* context*/ (Signal 11)

Example 2
----------
This one is short and sweet but requires minimal knowledge of Marathi
----
Ravan : Mai bhiksha de

Lady : ghya swami

Ravan : rekha olandun ikade ye (She crosses)

Ravan : HaHaHa mi Bhikshuk nahi !! Ravan aahe !!

Lady: Mi pan Seeta nahi, kamavali bai aahe!! Ha Ha Ha....
----

I thought it lacked a punch and sm1 replied saying this was an old one and wasnt funny anymore ..
So I decided to let them into another dimension of this humorus joke
And I replied
But did you know why the Kaam waali baai cross the line

.

.

.
.

.Because her name was Rekha

Dunno but both these gems left the people in the mailing list speechless and since then i have stopped recieving such comic (sic)sans PJs

Moscow

Moscow

1 month and not many places visited …leaves me with kind of guilt

The guilt of not having done justice to this gr8 city.

The next time I go I would want to do all of the following:

  1. Visit the Red Square at night
  2. Go around Moscow at night (God give me the strength and courage to do so)
  3. Maybe get a few more gifts this time around to all appropriate people only.
  4. Visit all museums with a proper person who can provide me a background to what I am seeing.
  5. And try to search for vegetarian food in Moscow.

And take lots of pics of each of the places I visit. …Kinda do justice to my N73.

Maybe I do vvisit this place once again

If I don’t whoever does ……Just one word of caution ..The city is dangerous but not as dangerous as ppl make it sound

Why?

An old draft being posted

after 200 days of working .....I suddenly have a huge doubt .....what exactly am I supposed to do right ?
I have felt for the past 22 years that a 9 to 6 job is the easiest thing in the world ...All you got to do is to drag your sick ass down to the office at 9 and drag it back home at 6 . Atleast ma dad made it look easy ..You might bring work home sometimes but its a passing phase maybe a week or at max 2. Now when I am on the other side of the fence goin to school seems so damn easy ..You have fixed deadlines and if you don't meet them the max that may go wrong is that you affect your grades...maybe get a punishment..Here you have deadlines which shift faster that the quicksand and all the time you are in this hole full of shit ... Missing a deadline is as big a crime as wearing shoes to the temple..Nobody says a thing until you reach the sanctum sanctorum and then you are kicked out....Same is the case here ....when you are neck deep in quicksand they find you as a stepping stone to the other side ....the scapegoat ...

Maybe it is actually easy to do it but it depends on whether you got it all right in the first place...
You must know where to and where not to open your mouth????

Maybe I get work from today ...This might mean that the frequency of my blogs might reduce ...But maybe they might be a bit more meaningful.Or may be not ..ANyways Maybe Act 2 of life begins today ...(or tommorow) ..
